Our 2009 Sponsors

The Ottawa Children’s Festival is grateful to its sponsors who, despite the hardships facing the corporate sector, still made support of the OICF a priority. Our corporate sponsors realize the value of supporting a Festival that gives families and school groups an opportunity to share meaningful experiences.

It is important that children and youth have the chance to view superior quality professional performing arts and our sponsors recognize the importance of helping to provide a venue where young people can flex their imaginations and expand their minds.

Our 2009 sponsors include:

TD Canada Trust returned this year as the OICF’s sustaining partner. We thank them for the support they have given the festival over the years and for continuing to invest in the arts and our youth.

MBNA – Bank of America and the French Catholic School Board returned this year as sponsors of the Adopt a School Program. It is because of their support that, in 2009, more than 500 children from Beacon Schools attended the festival and experienced the arts in a way they may not otherwise have been able. The OICF is very fortunate to have Bank of America and the French Catholic School Board’s support and we look forward to working with them in 2010.

The OICF welcomed support from a new corporate partner this year. COSTCO joined us as a sponsor and maintained an on-site presence throughout the Festival as well. The initial year was a great success and we hope to build upon this partnership in the coming years.

The Festival was very fortunate to have the Delta Ottawa Hotel & Suites return as the official hotel of the 2009 Ottawa International Children’s Festival. The Delta hosted our international artists for the entire week that they were in Ottawa.

Other major hotel sponsors were the Minto Place Suite Hotel and the Arosa Hotel & Suites. They provided accommodations to our Canadian performers while they were in town.

Other hospitality sponsors were Tim Hortons, Pizza Pizza and Dirienzo’s Deli.  We look forward to having all our food and beverage partners return for the 2010 Festival.

We would like to thank the Portrait Gallery, Randall’s Paints, and Bank Street Framing for donating items and gift certificates for our Imagination Station.

We are grateful for the continued, year-round support of our community partners, who are fundamental to our success each season. The Festival received support from the Ontario Tourism Events Marketing Partnership Program, Celebrate Ontario, Department of Canadian Heritage, the Canada Council for the Arts, the Ontario Arts Council and the City of Ottawa.  We thank these government programs and funding agencies for their continuing support and their dedication to performing arts for young people.

This year, the Ottawa Citizen, BOB FM and CTV provided coverage of the Festival and also assisted in the promotion leading up to and during the festival. We would like to thank these media partners and look forward to providing an exciting program for them to cover next year.

Adopt A School Sponsorship

The Adopt-A-School program helps students from Beacon Schools (schools designated by the Board of Education as special needs schools – either economically, socially, or learning challenged, and often all three) across the Ottawa region experience the arts at no cost to the children, their families, or their school. Since 2004, more than 4,500 children from 18 schools attended the festival at no cost as part of this program.

Our Adopt-A-School for 2008 were The French Catholic School Board, Adobe, Bank of America, and the A-Channel Ottawa. The very important Adopt a School program allows children in financially challenged areas to attend the festival free of charge. These children would not normally have the opportunity to attend a festival or be exposed to the arts so this is program we hope many community corporations support.

As an Adopt a School partner, the local businesses who become involved not only give back to the community, they affect children directly. The investment in our youth is very important and becoming an Adopt a School sponsor is one way you can have a direct impact on our community’s kids and their access to arts and culture.

The process of becoming an Adopt a School sponsor is:

•  All potential corporate sponsors are asked to fill out the corporate registration form available on the festival website.

•  Each donation will be assigned to a registered class as soon as it is received.

•  Once the sponsor/class partnership is assigned and confirmed, the sponsor will receive a letter with information about their adopted class.

•  Sponsors are encouraged to participate in the festival – for example, an employee can volunteer to greet the adopted class as they arrive at the festival by bus.

•  Each corporate sponsor will receive feedback and letters of thanks from the children of the adopted class after the festival.
